Headspace Check Update

Update to my previous review. Received my gauges and this barrel did NOT allow a BCG to completely lock up on a Clymer GO gauge (1.4636). Tried five BCG's with the same effect. Those same five BCG's all closed on the Clymer GO gauge in five different barrels. None of those barrels closed on a Clymer NOGO gauge. The BCG did close on a Tula 223 steel cased round multiple times (firing pin removed) on this barrel without difficulty. Maybe this chamber is cut slightly short for a 556 gauge??

M4 Nitride Barrel

Barrel has a good Nitride finish throughout. Barrel and extension were Nitrided before front A2 sight was installed. A2 front sight is F marked and is Parkerized. Sight hardware and sling loop/rivet are packaged separately. Rifling looks good and appears to be standard button rifling. Had to remove front sight pins to install gas tube and they came out and went back in very easily, but I'm sure the sight will hold up over time. Barrel nut is standard. Perfect slip fit into an Aero Precision upper. And my BCG locks up real nice. Did not do a headspace check yet. Waiting for my gauges. Only complaint, and its really a minor one, is that the muzzle threads were slightly damaged as if the barrel threads were hit against something. Exposing some bare metal. I thought I was going to have to chase the threads with a die but worked an A2 flash hider on by hand and it was fine. Would recommend for JSE to put a rubber cap over the threads during storage and shipment. Cheap insurance. Overall this barrel is nice and if it shoots good I will definitely be buying another at this price.
