I primarily shoot 55 grain projectiles so the added twist is actually better for me.
The quality is outstanding. There is a very slight difference in the profile from the early "pencil barrels" but that could have varied between manufacturers. The antique one I have is slightly different.
Not so different that even an experienced gunsmith would notice, but if you had one to compare side by side you might see the variation.
Overall an excellent choice!

great barrel for the price. perfect for retro builds. used it to complete at colt 602 clone. was hesitant that the nitrite finish would match up but looks great cant tell it apart from my 1968 barrel on my other rifle.

This is a good quality barrel. I prefer the 1x9 twist and so far 55 gr Frontier HP match shoots very nice groups for me. I am very pleased with the performance. My M16A1 clone is gassed perfectly and is a very smooth shooter overall. I have put several hundred rounds through my retro build since the end of march 2019 and I don't think anyone would be disappointed with the performance of this barrel.

Decent barrel. Second one I've bought. 1st was for a Colt 711 clone and works great. This one is for an M16A1 clone. It's nitride not parkerized but no big deal. It's A1 style from the fsb forward but from handguard cap back it thicker than an A1. No big deal being .025 or so thicker for most things but that makes all the difference in not being able to mount an M203 to it. If you have plans on putting an LMT M203 on, this barrel won't work without modifications. For most all retro builds these are great barrels even if they come with an A2 front sight. If you need accurate A1 dimensions these fall short between the extension and handguard cap. If I didn't try putting the LMT M203 on I probably would have never known the difference and just bought an A1 front sight to replace the one sent with the barrel.
