SAW THESE ON YOUTUBE, AND DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A TRY. MY 1973 COLT AR-15 SP1 HAD A CASE OF THE RATTLE BETWEEN THE UPPER AND LOWER. INSTALLED ONE IN MY RIFLE AFTER A TRIM JOB AT THE TOP, SO AS NOT TO INTERFERE WITH BOLT TRAVEL INTO THE BUFFER TUBE. "DOWNTOWN CHARLIE BROWN" ON THE FITMENT NOW! I purchased these to snug up the upper and lower receivers on an ar15. They do just that. It required a lot of pressure to push the halves together before the pin would slide through, I mean putting the rifle on its top and putting my body weight on the lower kind of pressure. I wasn't sure if that was a procedure I wanted to do every time I disassembled, but I didn't want to trim them down, because I thought it would take the shape after sitting, like a fobus holster does, and they did after sitting for a couple days. It's still manageable to push on the takedown pin with my finger to release. Some reviews I have read said they trimmed the wedge down because it was too tight, but I think that is defeating the purpose of this device. These are a simple inexpensive fix.
