AR15 Extra Long 3/32 Bolt Catch Roll Pin Starter/Finish Punch Set

I've previously mentioned the flaws of this set so no need to rehash that. It is possible to modify them to work properly. A better solution is to buy the Real Avid brand punch set. I didn't bother to compare prices but the other set is perfect in every detail without any modification. And yes, JSE sells them too. They also consistently ship faster than they claim. Often within hours of placing your order.

The girls at JSE must be psychic. I had already ordered the other set they suggested, It should arrive within a day or two. If my modifications and testing are successful, I'll send them back to JSE for inspection. Perhaps they can forward them to their supplier for clarification. Did anyone else notice that JSE posts the "not so good" reviews too? Many other websites don't! That's another example of why I keep coming back.

Of countless orders from JSE, this is the first screw-up. While I don't blame JSE as they can't possibly test everything, the manufacturer should have known better. The end of the "removal tool" is too short so it can't reach in far enough to push the roll pin out of the way. The installation tool functions as it should however, the handle area of both punches are excessive in diameter so they still hit/scrape the receiver. I'm not really seeing any advantage over a standard punch set. Fortunately I have a metal lathe so I can modify both so they perform as intended. Again, JSE has treated me extremely well over the years. I don't hold them at fault. I'm sure that unless they read this, they don't even know there is a problem. *** Added by JSE **** Sorry for the issue. I'll check with the manufacturers of the punch and holder to see if they can make a couple mods. You may want to try out the set from Real Avid. They are a little different and have a slimmer handle so it may work better for you. thank you for the order and the review!
