Way better than the stupid wire pin! I can see why certain parts were changed on the M16 through its history, but the only reason THIS seems to have been changed was the Govement' wanted to save money and could buy 5 cheap cotter pins for the price of one of these. This is MUCH easier to get back into the bolt carrier than the cotter pin is. Plus it adds that authenticity to your retro builds.
