looks nice but fits poorly without additional parts

The machining and finish are nice. The mounting system is lacking. The rear clamps down onto the barrel nut, so it is rock solid. The only issue there is that the barrel nut has to be clocked perfectly so this rail lines up with the rail on the upper receiver. The real problem is that the front clamps down onto the sheet metal end cap. Simply snugging the front screws compresses the front together about 1/16" more than the rear, so the rails are visibly crooked. I emailed UTG for help and got absolutely no response. The high-dollar drop-in quad rails have interlocking features at the front to keep them spaced properly. I ended up making a pair of 17/64" thick spacers to put around the front and center screws to keep the rails parallel when the screws are tightened. Unless you have equipment for precision machining to create a workaround for this design flaw, I don't recommend getting this product. *** Added by JSE *** I'm sorry there was an issue with the fitment of your purchase. We are always happy to help with issues. We have had excellent results with installation and use of these drop in quad rails over the years. I'm very happy you were able to make shims to resolve your issue, but that is not a standard issue with these handguards. Thanks, Gwyn.
