A2 Standard Fixed Stock Kit - Black

A very nice stock !! Has the look and feel of quality, happy I found JSE !!

Quality product dark grey just like FN and Colt used on the M16a2 and M16a4s I got issued in the Army it's the most authentic I've found why someone would want to paint or coat it is beyond me after the first cleaning I always took my oil soaked rag and wiped the stock down it turned black the more you use it if you want that authentic look it's right here.it wouldn't surprise me if these were Colt or FN new and advertised as just a regular stock.

Apparently some reviewers were disappointed with the color not being as dark black as they would like. On the other hand, I specifically ordered this one because it was a high quality matte gray finish and composite material rather than the shiny and slick cheap black plastic. The quality is excellent, and even though it starts off as a nice dark gray which I like, any cleaning oil will darken it considerably if you want the black rifle look. This matte gray finish and quality material was just exactly what I wanted and I am totally happy with my purchase.

The stocks I received are the better made models with the fiberglass texture body and yellow insulation. This style of stock has always had the grayish appearance when new. As you use it, you will notice your hand and face grease start turning it black in color. Most people just use their favorite gun lube to speed up the black appearance. If you want a black stock from the get go, you have to buy one of the cheaper black polyurethane models that have a very cheap plastic feel, because they are hollow and actually made of cheap plastic. They do not have internal insulation, only a white insert so you can store a cleaning kit in the stock. The only reason I rated these a 4 instead of 5 is because they don't come with an aluminum spacer (it is plastic) and the installation screw does not have the traditional locking feature the way I have seen them in the past. The fit and finish was excellent on my Aero Precision M16A4 receivers.

I am sure that the stock will do just fine just as any other A2 stock will, however they have it advertised as black. The stock is not black. The buttplate is black, the extension tube is black however the stock itself is a gray color.. While attempting to build a an accurate replica of a retro M-16/AR-15 rifle, Slightly disappointed that I cannot achieve the “black rifle” status with this stock. Will probably end up Cerecoating it or some other way or dying the stock to achieve black
